[ARCHIVED] Mayor's Kids Day

Do you have a KID FRIENDLY Business in Pembroke Pines?

The Recreation and Cultural Arts Department along with Mayor Frank C. Ortis are planning the 10th Annual Mayor’s Kids’ Day Event in the City of Pembroke Pines. This year’s theme is: LIGHTS, CAMERA, KID’s DAY, where the kids are our stars!

The event will be held on Friday, June 21, 2019. The event takes place in the City of Pembroke Pines for the residents of Pembroke Pines. On this day, Mayor Ortis honors the youngest residents by offering a “fun filled” day which includes businesses and establishments that will offer free services, products or samples to those children who have pre-registered and are wearing a Mayor’s Kids’ Day Wristband.

The event works as follows: each child will receive a wristband from the Recreation and Cultural Arts Department from designated locations throughout the city prior to the event day. Then following a set schedule, businesses that have signed up will open their doors at the designated time of their choosing to those wearing the wristbands. The list of participating businesses will be posted on the city’s website. The Mayor will host a lunch for the children at the Charles F. Dodge City Center, 601 City Center Way. Children will be greeted by a variety of characters representing different businesses. 10 lucky kids during the lunch will be chosen to enter the BrightStar Money Machine and win prizes. Once lunch is over, they will continue to explore the city and businesses. As a business you decide how much you want to do at your own location. You can offer a service, a discount or a sample all day or for a few hours. You can even offer your product to a limited number of participants. The concept is that the children will visit your business and return at a later date knowing that you honored them and made them a VIP!

The City of Pembroke Pines would like you to be a part of this event and help in honoring the children in our community. We would also like for them to use this opportunity to discover the businesses and establishments in their neighborhood.

Please contact Francie Novo, Special Events Coordinator, at 954-392-2116 or email at fnovo@ppines.com to discuss the opportunities.
