[ARCHIVED] Ghoulish Guardians Pumpkin Carving Contest

Please join us for a Ghoulishly good time at our 5th Annual Pumpkin Carving Contest Saturday, October 17, 2015 from 10am-1pm at the Pembroke Pines Community Garden on Hiatus Rd & Washington St.

The fifth annual free event will benefit Children’s Harbor, a child welfare organization located in Pembroke Pines. Children’s Harbor focuses on keeping foster children untied as a family in a home-like atmosphere. Event participants are encouraged to bring donations of school supplies and/or monetary contributions to the event location.

Whole Foods Market of Pembroke Pines will present gift card prizes to winners in four different categories including Special Needs, ages 7 - 11, ages 12 - 16, and 17 and older Each family will receive two pumpkins; participants with larger groups are asked to provide their own pumpkins. Carving tools available. Paints will be available to the special needs community for contestants not wishing or able to carve. Stenciled designs will not be selected for the juried element of the event. At 12:30 p.m. judging will begin. Wholesome snacks will be available for participants and their supporters.
