Save the Date! The City of Pembroke Pines invites everyone to the 25th Annual Art & Music Fest in the Pines being held at the Charles F. Dodge City Center, located at 601 City Center Way, on Saturday, November 4, 2023 from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. and on Sunday, November 5, 2023 from 12 p.m. (noon) to 5 p.m. Previously known as Artfest, this iconic event has been rebranded to celebrate its 25th anniversary and the diversity in the local community. Art & Music Fest in the Pines is a two-day art and music celebration free to the public that attracts people from the local and surrounding communities. Music lovers and art enthusiasts alike can expect an unforgettable weekend filled with live music, artists from all over the country, diverse cuisine courtesy of Gourmet Truck Expo, hands-on art demonstrations, a student art competition, a kids’ art and game zone and so much more. Talented artists will be displaying and selling their work at this juried Art Show. Artist categories include crafts, drawing, painting, jewelry, mixed media, digital art, fine handcrafts, photography, and wood. This event is a great opportunity for holiday shopping and finding unique, handcrafted items for all ages.

Be sure to mark your calendars for the following activities on November 4th: Local students will have their artwork on display as part of the 6th Annual Student Art Competition. Student winners will be announced on the main stage Saturday, November 4 at 2 p.m. Live music and entertainment on the Plaza will feature an exciting lineup of performances:

Saturday, November 4th: interactive belly dancing performance by the Arabian Roses (12:30 pm); Rock and Pop Cover band BombShell (3-5 pm); Smokin' Renegade: A Tribute to Boston and Styx (6-8 pm). On Sunday, November 5th: high-energy party band Resonance (12 pm-2 pm); and Bobby Nathan’s Rock and Soul Review featuring Betty Padgett (3-5 pm).

The 25th Annual Art and Music Fest in the Pines offers something for everyone. The Kid’s Art and Game Zone will feature arts and crafts projects for kids by Pines Art Center’s teachers, face painting (Saturday 2 – 4 pm) and balloon twisting (Sunday 2-4 pm) by Ooopsy Entertainment, and there will be a life-size coloring mural. The Color Bubble will also be onsite Saturday from 11 am - 3 pm with their mobile art studio to create paintings, slime, and sand art.

The Frank C. Ortis Art Gallery will be offering family friendly artist-led workshops for kids throughout the weekend.  Everyone is invited to join environmental artist Melanie Oliva on Saturday, November 4 (12 pm, 1 pm or 3 pm).  In recognition of Manatee Awareness Month, she will lead participants through decorating a wooden manage in the style of famous artists like Piet Mondrian, Keith Haring, Yayoi Kusama, etc. A workshop with Mixed Media Artist Lifrancis Rojas will be held on Sunday, November 5 (1 pm, 2 pm, 3 pm), where she will instruct participants in creating abstract paintings using mixed media. Pre-registration at The Frank front desk during Art & Music Fest is required before each workshop session.

If you are looking for a four-legged addition to your family, nonprofit Pooches in Pines will be onsite on Saturday, November 4 from Noon to 4 pm with dogs available for adoption. Please stop by and consider adopting a fur-ever friend.
