The Frank C. Ortis Art Gallery's newest exhibition, “Oliver Jeffers: 15 Years of Picturing Books!” runs June 15, 2023 through September 9, 2023. An Opening Reception will be held on Thursday, June 15, 2023 from 6 pm to 9 pm. This is free and open to the public. The evening will feature music by DJ Gruuvn, live portraits by Stella, and complimentary refreshments and hors d’oeuvres. Visitors will have an opportunity to walk through the pages of Oliver Jeffers’ books with almost 100 artworks from 16 of Jeffers’ books. This retrospective exhibition features original artworks by the award-winning artist and author Oliver Jeffers who work has been translated into more than 50 languages and sold over 14 million copies worldwide. Featuring original drawings and sketches from celebrated books such as The Day the Crayons Quit, Here We Are, and How to Catch a Star, this exhibition, organized by the National Center for Children’s Illustrated Literature, provides an insight into Jeffers’ practice as an artist and storyteller.
