The City of Pembroke Pines is closely monitoring Tropical Depression Nine, which has the potential to strengthen into Hurricane Hermine. The National Hurricane Center advises that this weather system is expected to turn northwest this weekend and intensify in strength. While the path is not yet known, South Florida may experience effects such as tropical storm or hurricane-force winds and heavy rainfall beginning on Monday evening and continuing into mid-week -- the extent and location of impacts is still highly uncertain.
