There is no better place to get into the holiday spirit than at the annual Holiday Open House held at the Carl Shechter Southwest Focal Point Community Center, located at 301 NW 103 Ave. Free and open to the public, visitors to the Center can enjoy over 30 different holiday trees and a huge “miniature winter village,” complete with a train, that changes every year. The Open House is being held on Thursday, December 14, 2017 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. There will also be an Ugly Sweater Contest with prizes awarded. Judging will take place with two age groups: Ages 0-11 and 12 years and over.
