The City of Pembroke Pines invites the community to honor the victims, their families and the heroes of 9-11 with a VIRTUAL Patriot Day Remembrance Ceremony on Friday, September 11 2020 at 8:30 am. The ceremony will begin with the Presentation of Colors by the City of Pembroke Pines Police and Fire Department Honor Guard along with remarks from the Mayor and Commissioners. A moment of silence will be observed at 8:46 a.m. (Eastern Daylight Time) which marks the time that the first plane flew into the World Trade Center, and we will reflect on the importance of this day. Please note that due to COVID-19 restrictions, this event will not be open to the public but we ask that you join us via the City’s Facebook and Instagram accounts and show your support. Everyone is also encouraged to fly the American Flag at half-staff on this day.
