The Pembroke Pines Fire Rescue in joint venture with the Pembroke Pines Police Department proudly offers the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT).
The Program
The CERT program educates adults about disaster preparedness for hazards that may impact their area and provides training for basic disaster response skills such as fire safety, light search and rescue, team organization, and disaster medical operations.
Training & Response
Using the training learned in the classroom and during hands on exercises, CERT members learn to help themselves, their family, and others in their neighborhood, workplace, or school following an event when professional responders are not immediately available to help. As a member of a CERT team, you can respond to disasters, participate in drill and exercises, and take additional training.
