New Mural at City Center

Local artist Ivan Roque has been selected to produce a new mural titled “The Spirit of Us”, a conceptual representative of diversity and community. The mural highlights three native creatures from different aspects of life, the Florida panther (land), the Roseate spoonbill (air) and the manatee (sea). The flower selection used for this piece represent inclusivity of cultures coming together in a melting pot that we call our home, South Florida. The hibiscus, orchid, bougainvillea, bird of paradise and the orange blossom are the representative flowers.

Ivan Roque is a Cuban American artist originally from Miami. He has been commissioned by various cities across the United States and abroad including New York City, Dubai, and Seoul. Mr. Roque has also had numerous solo exhibitions at various galleries.

“The Spirit of Us” is featured on the façade of The Frank Art Gallery.
