Waste Pro provides residential trash collection, twice per week.

Twice per week on your scheduled days. Place your wheeled carts curbside the night before (after 6:00 p.m.) or by 7:00 a.m. on collection day.

- Monday & Thursday: Dykes Rd. West to US-27 (incl. Holly Lake MHP)
- Tuesday & Friday: Palm Ave. West to Dykes Rd.
- Wednesday & Saturday: Turnpike West to Palm Ave.
However, you can also find out your garbage collection day by viewing the schedules.

- Place bagged household garbage in your cart. Bagging keeps your cart cleaner, minimizes odors, and helps reduce pests.
- Do not place hot ashes or coals, household hazardous waste, or medical waste in the garbage cart.
- Do not overfill the cart. The lid must remain closed to:
- Prevent littering,
- Allow for automated collection, and
- Help control odor and varmints.
- Residents are not allowed to reload the cart for additional service on the same collection day.
- To keep your cart in good condition, you should occasionally rinse it out with a hose.

- Place your cart at the curb by 7:00 a.m. on your collection day, but no earlier than 6:00 p.m. the night before.
- Position the cart with the handles and wheels facing your residence and the lid opening toward the street.
- Keep the cart at least 3 feet away from mailboxes, utility poles, trees, fire hydrants, parked cars, and other carts to allow automated collection.
- Do not block sidewalks, driveways, or place carts in the street where they may be damaged or cause hazards.
- Ensure there are no overhead obstructions (such as tree limbs or wires). For safety, maintain a clearance of at least 14.5 feet above the cart.
- If placing multiple carts, leave at least 2 feet of space between them.
- Once service is complete, promptly remove the cart from the curb and store it on your property.

You should move the carts to the front curb the night before your collection day, no earlier than 6 p.m., but no later than 7:00 a.m., on your collection day. Promptly remove your cart from the curb after collecting.

Do not park at the curb on collection day. If a car is blocking the safe collection of your garbage by the automated equipment, then the driver will not pick up at that time. In those few locations where parking is an extreme problem or where sidewalks are narrow, place carts on the driveway or next to the curb with the wheels against the curb, and park autos so as to accommodate the new system. When delivered, your wheeled cart will be placed in the correct position for collection. -

- The wheeled cart is the property of the City of Pembroke Pines and must not be painted, abused, mutilated, altered, or modified in any way.
- Stolen carts: You must file a Police Report. Once a report is provided, Waste Pro will replace the container at no cost to you or the City.
- Damaged carts (normal use): If your cart is damaged beyond repair from regular use, Waste Pro will deliver a replacement container at no cost within three (3) work days of being notified by the City or the resident
- Damaged carts (by Waste Pro): If the cart is damaged by Waste Pro’s staff or equipment, they must repair or replace it at no cost to you
- Damaged carts (by the customer): If the cart is damaged due to customer negligence (e.g., placing hot ashes or coals inside), the resident is responsible for the cost of repair or replacement.

Yes. Residents may use their blue cart for co-mingled solid waste collection:
- Cost: $2.00 per month, billed on your monthly utility bill.
- Collection Day: Once a week, on your original recycling day.
- Decal Requirement: Participation requires a decal issued by Waste Pro. Do not place your blue cart out for service until the decal has been affixed.

Yes, each cart has a specific weight limit:
- 35 gallon cart: 125 lbs
- 65 gallon cart: 220 lbs
- 95 gallon cart: 340 lbs
Please ensure your cart does not exceed these weight limits to avoid damage or issues during collection.

No. The residential recycling program was suspended on January 2, 2022. This decision was made due to global recycling market changes and contamination issues.

- Residents may continue using their blue carts for co-mingled solid waste collection at an additional cost of $2 per month.
- Participation requires a decal issued by the contractor, which must be affixed to the cart before use.
- If you still have a blue cart, we kindly ask that you hold onto it until a new recycling program is in place. The City’s courtesy removal period (Jan. 2022–Nov. 2023) has ended, and storing your cart now will allow it to be re-used once the recycling program is re-implemented, helping reduce costs and ensuring carts are readily available for redistribution.

Each Residential Service Unit may place up to 10 cubic yards of bulk waste per scheduled pickup.
- Allowance for Larger Piles: Residents may request up to two pickups per calendar year that exceed the 10-cubic-yard limit, by contacting Eastern Waste Systems (EWS) at (954) 543-9800 or online at www.easternwaste.com/pembroke-pines
- Overage Fee: After the two annual allowances are used, residents who exceed the 10-cubic-yard limit will be charged $15.00 per cubic yard for the overage.
- Non-Conforming Bulk: Bulk waste that is non-conforming (e.g., contractor-generated debris, hazardous waste, overweight/oversized bulk) will not be collected.
- Contractor-Generated Debris:
- Debris generated by a contractor (e.g., from remodeling, repairs, equipment installation, or yard work/tree trimming performed by a contractor) must be removed from the site by the contractor who generated it.
- If contractor-generated debris is left curbside and determined to be non-conforming bulk, Eastern Waste Systems (EWS) may remove it for a fee of $25.00 per cubic yard.

Yes. The City has an exclusive franchise agreement with Waste Pro for all construction and demolition debris, which means residents and businesses may not contract with any other hauler for this service. However, if you own and use your own equipment or roll-off containers, you may utilize those instead.
