Eighteenth Annual Storybook Festival

Pembroke Pines, FL (October 10, 2019) – All children and their families are welcome at the 18th Annual Storybook Festival on Saturday November 16, 2019 from 10:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. at the Pembroke Pines Southwest Regional Library located at 16835 Sheridan Street in Pembroke Pines. The free Storybook Festival brings together children’s literature, art, music, dance, performances, storytelling and the joys of reading into a memorable day.
This year will feature graphic novels, including comic books and cartoons.  Furthermore, the author and illustrator of the CatStronauts series, Drew Brockington, will be one of the special guests.  The first 1,000 children in attendance will receive a free book. Children are encouraged to arrive at the Festival in costume to participate in the Story Book Parade which begins promptly at 11:00 a.m.
Festival Activities include: Children will enjoy free face painting, an arts and crafts tent, meeting storybook characters in the Fantasy Forest, participating in the Storybook Parade, a fire truck, if available, and enjoy the “swappin’ ground” area where children can tell their own stories.  Additionally, parents can bring cameras to take photos at the “official” Storybook Photo Spots.  Food trucks will be on the property, selling tasty goodies all throughout the day.
The Storybook Festival is funded through the Broward County Public Library Foundation with support from the City of Pembroke Pines and sponsored by Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital, The Children’s Services Council, friends of Southwest Regional Library and Broward Family Life Magazine.
