Park Closures in Pembroke Pines Announced



Pembroke Pines, FL…September 5, 2017…5:14 p.m.…In preparation for Hurricane Irma, all Parks in the City of Pembroke Pines will be closed as of 10:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 5, 2017.  All games, practices, and events have been cancelled until further notice.
 
Due to the anticipated Tropical Storm Force Winds expected to affect the area on Friday September 8, 2017 Pembroke Pines staff will work to secure the parks on Wednesday and Thursday.

Organizations, which utilize City Parks are advised to secure any loose equipment they may have in the Parks. To prevent a potentially hazardous situation, City Staff will be moving, disposing, and securing all loose equipment and will not be responsible for damaged or lost property. 


At this time Parks will remain closed through Tuesday, September 12, 2017.  For safety reasons, please stay clear of the Parks until an all clear is given from the City of Pembroke Pines. When conditions allow for residents and organizations to return to the parks the public will be notified via Pembroke Pines Media.

All City of Pembroke Pines facilities will be closed Friday, September 8, 2017 and will remain closed until further notice., including the Carl Shechter Southwest Focal Point Community Center Campus, located at 301 NW 103 Avenue.  
 
The Pembroke Pines Charter School System will follow Broward County recommendations for school cancellation. Per Broward County, there will be no school this week on Thursday, September 7, 2017 and Friday, September 8, 2017.
 
The Pembroke Pines Community Transportation Program will adhere to the Broward County transportation schedule.
 
Pembroke Pines Bulk pick-up has been provided throughout the City of Pembroke Pines by Zone. Bulk service will be suspended following the completion of the Wednesday, September 6, 2017 pick-up in Zone 9.  Residents/Businesses are requested to not cut trees or place debris in the swale if bulk pick-up has been completed.  Please check the City’s website and social media pages for information on when bulk service will resume.

September 8, 2017 - Grandparents Day Celebration at the Carl Shechter Southwest Focal Point Community Center Campus.
September 9, 2017 - BSO Shred-a-Thon scheduled at the Charles F. Dodge City Center
September 11, 2017 – Patriot Day, 9-11 Observance at the Pembroke Pines Memorial Park.
September 11, 2017 – HOA meeting hosted by Vice Mayor Angelo Castillo.
