Pembroke Pines, FL… July 10, 2017… The City of Pembroke Pines invites artists to participate in its Thirteenth Annual ART Competition.  Applications may be downloaded from www.ppines.com/studio18  or picked up at Studio 18 in the Pines, located at 1101 Poinciana Drive in Pembroke Pines.
 
Artists have a new opportunity in the 2017 competition, “Best Digital Art” was added to acknowledge and provide exposure to this popular medium.  Artists are welcome to submit in eight categories. One submission from all of the entries will be chosen to be the Festival Poster winner.  Categories and Prizes:  $500 Best of Show, $200 Best Digital Art, $200 Best Drawing, $200 Best Photography, $200 Best Sculpture, $200 Best Mixed Media, $200 Best Painting, $200 Best Watercolor.  In addition to a $200 cash prize, the winner of the Festival Poster will have his/her art featured  as the Art Festival booklet cover, and he/she will be provided a free 10x10 space with a tent for the duration of the 2018 Twentieth Annual Arts & Crafts Festival in the Pines. The Art Festival will be held on March 10 and 11, 2018 at the new City of Pembroke Pines Charles F. Dodge City Center, located at 601 City Center Way.
 
Please return the completed application (s) to Studio 18 in the Pines, 1101 Poinciana Drive, Pembroke Pines, FL 33025 prior to the application deadline: 5:00 p.m. on September 15, 2017.  Each submission must be accompanied by a completed application, one high resolution 4” x 6” color photograph with the artists name, artwork title, category & medium(s) used, phone number, artwork dimensions, artwork price and a check payable to the City of Pembroke Pines ($15.00 for each piece of artwork submitted). 
 
A panel of qualified art judges will jury the ART Competition.  Artists will be notified of their acceptance via email by September 20, 2017. Selected artwork must be dropped off to Studio 18 in the Pines for installation on September 25, 2017. Please read the application for additional details and rules. Accepted entries and winners of The City of Pembroke Pines 13th Annual ART Competition will be on display at the October 6, 2017 ART Competition Artist Opening Exhibition and Reception at Studio 18 in the Pines. Winners of the competition will be introduced during the opening. The ART Exhibit will conclude on November 9, 2017. 

The community and school groups are welcome to view Art Exhibitions at Studio 18 in the Pines, located at 1101 Poinciana Drive in Pembroke Pines any Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. and/or on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.  Admission and parking are free.
