18th Annual Pembroke Pines Relay for Life / March 31, 2017 and April 1, 2017. The 16-hour event begins at 5:00 p.m. on March 31, 2017 and ends at 9:00 a.m. at the Walter C. Young Middle School, 901 NW 129 Avenue, 33026. Gather friends, neighbors and form a team or join The Mayor’s Gang.  Cancer Survivors, Caregivers, family and friends are invited to help find a cure for cancer. Funds raised help find a cure. Seventh Annual Pill Box Pharmacies Flamingo Strut 5K and Fun Run / April 2, 2017/ Race Location:  Flamingo Park, 1900 N.W. 122nd Terrace (Taft Street location) adjacent to The Pill Box Pharmacies and Medical Supply in Pembroke Pines. Packet Pick-Up: 6:00 a.m., Race Time: 5-K at 7:30 a.m. followed by Kids Fun-Run Flamingo Strut at 8:30 a.m. All proceeds benefit the Pembroke Pines Charter School Foundation. No pets please. Sundaes with the Bunny / April 8, 2017 from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at the City of Pembroke Pines Carl Shechter Southwest Focal Point Community Center Campus, 301 N.W. 103rd AvenueTickets are required for every attendee. Fee:  $6.00 for residents and $8.00 non-residents. Limited seating available. Ticket includes the Make your Own Sundae buffet, Holiday Show, Games and Prizes and a visit with Peter Rabbit. Two Annual Egg Hunts / April 15, 2017, NEW time 10:00 a.m. Sharp!
Pines Recreation Center, 7400 Pines Boulevard and Pembroke Shores Park, 501 SW 172nd Avenue. The free event for children ages 12 and under includes an egg hunt, face painting, bounce houses, and a visit from Peter Rabbit. Bring a basket. Hop by early, the egg hunt line begins at 9:30 a.m.  Egg Hunts feature over 26,000 eggs per location (52,000 eggs)!  No pets please. Pines Day 57th Birthday Celebration and Kids Konnection Business Expo / April 22, 2017 from 12 noon to 6:00 p.m.  A full day of FREE family fun celebrating the City of Pembroke Pines 57th Birthday on the grounds of the newly opened City Center, 601 City Center Way. The entertainment includes free children’s rides, Little Miss Sweetheart Pageant (3-5), Young Jr Miss (6-8), Junior Miss (9-12) and Miss (13-16), Kids Konnection Business Expo, Children’s Stage Performances, Ten Foot Cake Cutting Ceremony, Food Truck Invasion. Guests will enjoy playing chess with Pembroke Pines Mayor Frank C. Ortis and City Commissioners, and officials from Broward County in support of Scholastic Chess.
