Southwest Focal Point Community Center
The Carl Shechter Southwest Focal Point Community Center is the centrally located in Pembroke Pines. Our 53,000 square foot facility offers a multitude of services geared to residents of southwest Broward County. The center includes an Adult Day Care program and is adjacent to our senior housing complex, Pines Point. Other services provided at the center are Health Support, Social Services and Nutrition. The Center also offers various activities and classes during the day, they include educational, recreational and artistic programs. The Center is the site for many special City events including flea markets, dinner dances, holiday open house, tea parties and much more.
Citizenship Classes are held at the S.W. Focal Point Community Center every Tuesday from 9 am to 2 pm. If you are interested, please stop by and inquire with our very knowledgeable volunteers. They will guide you in signing up for the appropriate class, Beginners or Advanced depending on your current level of knowledge.
S.H.I.N.E. Serving Health Insurance Needs of Elders offers assistance with your health insurance questions. Every Thursday from 10am to 2pm, there are professional personnel available to answer all your insurance needs and help you with future decisions. Please call 954-745-9567 for more information.
Membership
All interested individuals ages 18 and over are encouraged to visit our beautiful community center located in the heart of Pembroke Pines. Social Service staff and volunteers are available to conduct facility tours. Upon registration, all members receive a membership card and an events calendar. Registration is FREE for those 60 and over, and a $40.00 annual membership for those 59 and under.
