Captain Scott Carris


Captain Scott Carris has proudly served the City of Pembroke Pines for over 21 years, after graduating from the 184 Police Academy in 1997.  

Captain Carris served as a road patrol officer until 2003, at which time he was promoted to the Sergeant.  During his time as a Sergeant he served in Patrol, oversaw the Crisis Response Team, the Traffic Division, and served in Internal Affairs. He was subsequently promoted to the rank of Captain in 2016, where he served in the capacity of Patrol Captain until January of 2018.  Captain Carris currently oversees the Criminal Investigation Division.

Prior to joining the Pembroke Pines Police Department, Captain Carris attended the The State University of New York College at Potsdam where he received a Bachelor of Arts in Industrial and Labor Relations. Captain Carris is a graduate of the International Association of Chiefs of Police’s Leadership in Police Organizations and the University of Louisville’s Southern Police Institute’s Command Officer Development Course.  Captain Carris also served as a member of our SWAT team from 2003-2007.

Captain Scott Carris currently oversees the Investigation Division, which includes all Investigative Units, Crime Analysis Unit, Crime Scene Unit, and Forensics Unit.
