Join us as we travel south to the Historic Redland Tropical Trail to discover a part of South Florida’s unique tropical paradise. Our first stop will be at the Capri Restaurant, family owned since 1958, where we will enjoy a delicious Italian lunch. Next we will visit the Robert is Here Fruit Stand; since 1959 offering a wide variety of exotic fruits and vegetables and fresh fruit milkshakes, a wide variety of jams, jellies, marmalades, sauces, chutneys, relish and pickles! Our last stop will be a tour and wine tasting at the Schnebly Winery, the southernmost winery in the U.S. featuring wines created from tropical fruits. Friday, November 16, 2018. All ages are welcome at the 17th Annual Storybook Festival on Saturday November 17, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. at the Pembroke Pines Southwest Regional Library located at 16835 Sheridan Street in Pembroke Pines. The free Storybook Festival brings together children’s literature, fantasy, art, music, dance, performances, storytelling and the joys of reading into a fun and unforgettable day. The first 1,000 children in attendance will receive a free book. Children are encouraged to arrive at the Festival in costume to participate in the Story Book Parade which gets underway at 11:00 a.m.
This year’s theme, “Let’s Go Fly a Kite,” is in celebration of the magic of Mary Poppins, encouraging everyone to follow their dreams and bring out their inner child.

Frank Contemporaries on November 29 will be a special college edition, showcasing creative works by the students of Florida International University. Featuring a survey of new works by current cohorts and alumni of the FIU Ratcliffe Art & Design Incubator, a cutting edge interdisciplinary center that promote and foster social entrepreneurship and professional development amongst upcoming FIU artists and designers. Featured creatives include Victoria Yunta, Laura David, Victoria Caraballo, Chris Friday and Michael Fernandez. This event will include a presentation on artistic thinking and business innovation by guest speaker Neil Ramsay, creative economist and Founder of ArtsUP! Concepts, a hybrid of concept, gallery and public space. This event is free to the public. Complimentary refreshments and hors d’oeuvres will be served.
